The 2009-2010 Assembly introduced a bill to disclose calories on menus and menu boards in establishments with 20 or more locations nationwide. Additional nutrition information must be available upon request. The additional nutrition information to be included is: calories from fat, grams of total fat, grams of sugar, milligrams of sodium, grams of dietary fiber, and grams of protein. Any restaurant that provides nutrition information would be exempt from civil liabilities in providing accurate information as long as the information was presented in good faith. The Public Health Committee is reviewing the bill.
