Virginia

Virginia proposed a bill that would eliminate trans fat in the public school system. It would have been a phase-out program, but it was defeated at the end of the 2007 Legislative Session.

Arlington, VA

County Chairman, J. Walter Tejada announced that he would encourage restaurants in the county to eliminate the use of artificial trans fat in food served beginning in 2008. Arlington County cannot ban trans fat unless the General Assembly gives them the authority to do so.
